Restaurants
Marlin Azul
Great Mexican food. Always consistent. They have a small pool you can use. We love the parillada platter, enchiladas, and the camarones imperiales
Aqua Ventana
A great beach bar with great poke bowls, drinks, and a good spot to watch the action on the water while being out of the wind. Try the poke coyas or the poblano soup for our faves.
Pólvora
This spot has really great breakfasts in a really neat environment. They also do dinners on some evenings.
Baja Joes
Our local pub with lots of events. They make their own beer and have a fun vibe. Texana is their food provider and does great crunch wraps.
Morris Kitchen
A great little breakfast spot right by Casa Verde. Owned by a local couple, the traditional Mexican breakfasts are delicious!
Taqueria Dona Paty
Great taco spot. The El Pastor tacos are their signature and a must try!
Mariscos El Cone
Seafood restaurant that uses freshly caught fish to make a variety of great local dishes. You can also bring your own caught fish and have them cook it for you.
La Tuna
This great spot has a party beach vibe with good seafood and drinks. Often have a DJ or other music playing at night.
Baja Bites
Our fave lunch spot - they make fish tacos a la plancha, for those who don't like deep fried fish.
Taqueria Rancho La Ventana
Quick, delicious, easy and close! Breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
Las Palmas
The original LV restaurant. This bright yellow spot has classic Mexican food right on the beach.
Mariscos El Palmar
A spot with all sorts of seafood - ceviche, tostadas etc. The Atun y Mango tostada is amazing!

Recycling Information
Before La Ventana and El Sargento became a popular windsport destination, it was a quiet fishing village. With the influx of windsport tourists and other tourists, the population now swells from 1500 residents in the summer to more than 4000 in the winter. With this type of growth, the rise in trash production has been enormous. Led by the organization No Mas Basura, we as a community need to move forward with reducing our consumption, reusing that which we can, and recycling the rest.
Compost
We compost all food scraps, including tea bags, meat, dairy, etc. Please put it in the compost container that will be emptied daily.
Glass
All glass (please not broken) accepted. Please rinse well and remove the lids, which can go in plastic or aluminum.
Plastic
All plastic is accepted. It is used in making fence posts for local ranches and also returned to some beverage facilities to make more plastic bottles. Please rinse and flatten all plastics.
Aluminum/Metals
Please rinse and flatten all metals. Accepted materials are:
Aluminum cans (beer, juice, pop cans)
Aerosol spray cans
Tin cans
Styrofoam
Please rinse and flatten all styrofoam. All styrofoam is accepted and utilized in the fence posts No Mas Basura is currently making for the local ranches.
Corks/Batteries
Please place all wine corks and batteries in the recycling so we can ensure they are recycled properly.
Recommended Activities
Snorkel Tours/Swimming with the Whale Sharks
Kiteboarding/Winging/Windsurfing
Swimming with the whale sharks is a bucket-list experience and aways worth the trip! We recommend going with Mexplore. If you need any assistance booking or obtaining rides to La Paz, please let us know.
If you are interested in doing an incredible Seafari to experience the abundant marine life from La Ventana, please let us know and we can help book that with some local captains
Whether new to windsports or a veteran, you have come to the right place! If you are looking for rentals or lessons, you can't get better than Elevation Kiteboarding. Check them out just down the beach to get you started.
Fishing
Mountain Biking
The mountain biking in town has taken off in the past few years. If you are looking to do a tour (complete with delicious organic lunch at a local farm), check out Rancho Cacachiles. If you have your own bike (or have rented one from Rancho Cacachiles), Trailforks will show you both the south and north trails. Our local trail organization, LaVesta is volunteer run and an incredible organization to support if you enjoy the trails!
Fishing on no-wind days can be an amazing experience. We recommend going with Lalo, an experienced local guide who speaks excellent English.
